Membership Class
The AVI caters for all different levels of professionals in the valuation industry.
The AVI currently offers 4 different membership classes:
Student Membership
Available to anyone currently undertaking an approved valuation course. Student members of the AVI receive a 50% discount on current membership fees.
Certified Property Valuers
The AVI offers membership to qualified individuals under the designations of Certified Property Valuer (CPV) and/or Certified Business Valuer (CBV), depending on their qualifications in property or business valuation.
The annual membership fee is AUD $440.00 & AUD$ 1.00 joining fee
To apply for membership, please complete the application form and return it along with certified copies of your academic transcripts (Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or other relevant qualifications). Upon receipt of your documentation, your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted with the outcome.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Requirements
All members are required to obtain 12 CPD points annually, specifically in the field of valuation. Evidence of completed CPD must be submitted to the AVI. To support members in fulfilling this requirement, the AVI organises several valuation-focused seminars each year. Attendance at a single seminar provides 3–4 CPD points, depending on the content of the Seminar. Attending at least one AVI Seminar annually is mandatory for all members.
In addition, the AVI offers comprehensive CPD courses, each providing the full 12 CPD points required for the year. Members may also attend non-AVI CPD events, provided the subject matter is relevant to the valuation profession
Associate
A member who has not maintained their CPD point requirement for the year. A member who maintains membership but does not practice as a CPV.
Certified Business Valuers
Available to applicants who have completed the Diploma of Business Valuation or an equivalent qualification. Members must provide proof of any non – AVI CPD points completed. Any non- AVI CPD points must be related to property valuation, NOT just the general property industry.
Members must complete 3 – 4 CPD points by attending one AVI Seminar per year.
