On the 28th of June 2019, esteemed barrister, author, property valuer and Order of Australia recipient Alan Hyam will be giving a seminar for the Australian Valuers Institute.
This seminar will be a great chance to expand your knowledge about the law regarding property valuation and gain 12 CPD Points for this financial year.
Topics covered will include:
– The legal principles of valuation practice
– Principles for valuations of easements and of common property
– Unit entitlements in Strata Title and Community Schemes
Mr Hyam is the author of ‘The Law Affecting Valuation of Land in Australia’ and ‘The Law Affecting Rent Review Determinations’. These two books are considered to be essential resources for judges, lawyers, valuers and other property professionals in the areas of valuation related law and commercial rent review determinations.
Throughout his extensive professional career, Mr Hyam has worked as a Registered Valuer, a LEADR Accredited Mediator and an arbitrator in major property disputes. He has extensive knowledge in the areas of property law, rent reviews, environmental and local government law, building law, mining law, land acquisition and compensation matters.

The next Annual General Meeting of the Australians Valuers Institute will be held on Friday 7th of September 2018, commencing at 11am – Q Station, 1 North Head, Scenic Drive Manly.
Agenda:
- Confirmation of minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting held 9th October 2017.
- Reception of the Chairman’s Report.
- Reception of the Financial Reports.
- Any other business of which due notice has been given to members.
Directions:
By Car: Arriving in Manly via Sydney Road, turn right to Belgrave St. Turn left at Manly Wharf. Take the second left (signposted North Head), turn right onto Darley Road and up the hill past Manly Hospital. Go through the stone arch, continue until you reach a roundabout and turn right into Q Station parking area. Use of personal vehicles is not permitted on the property.
By Bus: When catching public transport, you can find the Q Station on the 135 bus route that operates between Warringah Mall, Balgowlah, Manly Wharf and Q Station.

By Ferry: The Sydney Harbour Eco Hopper ferry stops right at Quarantine Wharf (Q Station) several times a day, 7 days a week. The Eco Hopper is an enjoyable, relaxing way to see Sydney Harbour and arrive at Q Station. Tickets can be purchased from the Fast Ferry booth at Manly or Circular Quay wharves.
