Valuers within the AVI have classifications of membership which are based
on academic qualifications and approved professional experience and many
years of practical field experience within their areas of operation and
chosen fields of expertise.
Membership classifications are ASSOCIATE, FELLOW, and
LIFE MEMBER.
The AVI requires all its Members issued with a Practising
Certificate to undertake Continuing Professional Education and to attain
Certification on an annual basis.
The AVI offers a comprehensive referral system for persons
seeking a professional, experienced valuer to undertake any of the valuation
assignments listed below.
Many AVI Members hold dual qualifications in the valuation
of real estate and building construction having been recognised by the
Department of Fair Trading, being the authority for the Co-operative and
Permanent Building Societies. Such valuers carry out Valuations of proposed
buildings on the basis of plans and specifications. Inspections are also
carried out to assess the extent of work completed on such dwellings with
a report to the lending institutions to enable progress payments to be
made to the licensed builder.
The Australian Valuers Institute is a dynamic group whose
widely experienced Members are available for valuation and consultation
relative to real estate matters.
